Wedding Card

Happy Thursday! I have a wedding for a friend to go to this weekend, so this is the card I made for her. I just love the way this came out. I think it's hard to make an ugly card with this stamp set. At first I wasn't sure I wanted this set but now that I have it, I think it's great! This set is Elements of Style and will be available in the Summer Mini starting on Saturday! My friend's bridesmaids are wearing black dresses so I kept the card in blacks and greys and then just added the green for a little punch of color. I think this was a good springy color to add. On the black cardstock I stamped the swirls from the set and embossed them with clear embossing powder. (It's a little hard to see in the photo but I did it on the top right and bottom left corners). I stamped the flower image and then colored it in with some gray copic markers. I used a border punch for the gray cardstock and then added some celery satin ribbon. I did go back afterwards and add some glitter to the center of the flowers. The sentiment is from Wedding Sweet punched out with the modern label punch. I then added some black rinestones that I had. That's it for me today. Have a good afternoon!

MDS Magnet

Happy Hump Day! Today I have a save the date magnet using My Digital Studio. Yes, another wedding related project. Next week I hope to have some non wedding stuff again. I just got My Digital Studio this week and was so excited to play with it. I had a request to make a save the date magnet sample for a possible client for this Saturday. So I racked my brain to figure out how to do it in a week. Luckily, my digital studio came just in time. In the meantime, I also found magnet sheets that you could feed through your printer and cut into any size you want. Perfect! I didn't have a whole lot of time to play around yesterday but this is what I came up with. I plan to make one more sample this week if I can. So far I LOVE the program. I can see that it will be a lot of fun to use. It would definitely cut down on the time of stamping each one separately. For this magnet which is 2.5 x 3, I used a DSP from the Summer Home pack in Baja Breeze. I sized the curly label punch to the size I wanted and added a shadow behind it. Then I added the leave images from Always in Kiwi Kiss. The kraft piece is what I will adhere the magnet to when it gets mailed out. I didn't have a lot of time, so I just did a quick design on the kraft piece. I didn't want to make it to elaborate anyway, since that would just get thrown out and you would just have the magnet on the fridge. The pictures below are a close up of the magnet and how it looks on the fridge (don't mind all the clutter on my fridge, lol!)I was just so excited that they magnet came out how I hoped. Just think of the other options that you can do by using the magnet cards, a list of phone numbers, etc. So what do you think?

Another Save the Date

Hello! I have another Save the Date for you. This is just a sample I did to show a friend of my brother's. He has several friends that are engaged that are looking for Save the Dates, so I made up a few samples to show them. I have one or 2 more that I will post this week. This one uses Elements of Style from the Summer Mini (which will be available May 1st!) The colors are Baja Breeze and Pacific Point, which will be returning with the new catalog in July. I stamped the large flower as the background on the Baja Breeze cardstock. The bird is stamped in Pacific Point and is cut out. I rounded the corners on the white cardstock and added a rinestone to the bird. (After looking at the picture, it looks like I need to change the blade on my paper cutter). That's it from me today, have a good day!

Save the Dates

Happy Friday! It's been a few days since my last post. I've been busy busy with all sorts of craftiness. I've been working on swaps for a group I'm a part of (can't post those yet), lots of invitations and then I just did some save the dates for my own wedding. These were actually pretty quick and easy to do. These are similar to one of the invite examples I had done. We still haven't decided on our invitation yet but I think we're leaning towards something like this. The stamp set used is not SU but everything else is. There is a new set in the Summer Mini that is similar so I may use something like that (I just haven't ordered the set yet). The background swirl on the chocolate chip paper is from Elements of Style...a new set from the Summer Mini. The butterfly is from Live Your Dream, which is retired. The following colors were used: Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Ruby Red and Pumpkin Pie. I printed the info on a piece of confetti cream die cut with the Top Note die. I had fun making these because they were fairly simple and look cute. If only I could spend ALL day making cards, invites and crafts, lol! That would be the life! Have a great weekend!

Vintage Wedding

Good afternoon! I had an idea to do a wedding invite with a vintage theme. This didn't come out exactly how I had planned but with a little tweaking, I think it could be good. The swirls are from Wedding Sweet stamped in Soft Suede, which I would restamp so they peaked out more behind the top note. I may even emboss them next time too. I also think I would put another layer behind the Soft Suede color as well. The actual invite is printed on Blush Blossom (soon to be retired). But Pink Pirouette would be a great subsitute. The edges are sponged. The flowers and butterfly from For All You Do are stamped in Dusty Durango. I think I would also add some rinestones to the flowers and butterfly. It was late and I couldn't find any in the color I wanted laying around nearby. Once I do a "tweaked" version of this invite, I'll post it. Have a good day!

Celebrating the New Colors

Hello! After yesterday's annoucement from Stampin Up about their new Color Renovation, I decided to get busy with some cards using the new (retired) colors. My inspiration came from 2 of the cards that were in the Stampin Success magazine for demonstrators. I pretty much copied them just changing them a bit and using the retired colors that will now be New colors! Since I liked how they came out, I added 2 more cards to the set. I think they all came out pretty good. I may try to limit the colors to 3 or 4 and make this a class or just another gift set. All of the cards use the set "For All you Do." I just love that butterfly in the set!! The details are listed under each card.

Card 1: Colors: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Scallop Punch, Modern Label Punch

Card 2: Colors: Baja Breeze, Pacific Point
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Scallop Punch, Modern Label Punch

Card 3: Colors: Tangerine Tango, So Saffron
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Modern Label Punch

Card 4: Colors: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Modern Label Punch, Eyelet Border Punch

Lots of eye candy for you today. I hope you enjoyed them all!!

Challenge Card

Hi! Today's card is from yesterday's Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoast. I wish I had time to do these challenges more often. I get to do them once in a while. Yesterday's came together fairly quickly. The card base is Soft Suede with dsp from the Razzleberry Lemonade collection and a Rich Razzleberry scallop edge. I punched 2 flowers one from Blush Blossom and one from Pretty in Pink. I "roughed" them up until I was able to pull the flowers apart and get 4 flowers total. I layered them and adhered them together with a rinestone brad. The leaves were punched from the XL Bird Punch with paper from the Write Stuff collection. Then I just added the "Happy Birthday" from On Your Birthday and that was it. Pretty quick!

Easter Card

Happy Friday! Here is a fairly quick and simple Easter card. Again, I used Awash with Flowers (it's just sitting on my desk, making it the first set I reach for). The patterned paper is from the Sweet Pea pack. I used a couple of non SU items on this card but for the most part everything is from Stampin Up. The flowers were stamped in Pretty in Pink and sponged with some Regal Rose. The tulips are Barely Banana (the middle one is also sponged with Apricot Appeal). The leaves are Certainly Celery. That's it for today! Have a great weekend and Easter!
